WAME Manuscript Submission Checklist
WAME's Manuscript Submission Checklist and Explanatory Document are now available, at https://wame.org/manuscript-submission-checklist.
Journals need to ask authors several questions at the time of submission of a manuscript. The responses to these questions are important to know when making decisions on and publishing manuscripts. However, currently there is no standard procedure to collect this information, making it easy to potentially miss important information. Therefore, the WAME Board developed a ‘Manuscript Submission Checklist’ which can serve as a template for medical journal editors to use for manuscript submissions to their journals. The Checklist and Explanatory Document (which includes the Checklist) are available for download as a Word doc and PDF.
Editors are welcome to adapt the checklist for their own journals but should indicate that the checklist was adapted. The Checklist may be used as a form to be completed and returned along with the manuscript submission, or as a series of online questions incorporated into the journal's manuscript submission system.
